[2006 was when i first listened - really listened - to this track.  because trying to get myself off booze and off a girl and off a lot of things, wasn’t very much that’d set me off into my little spiral of self-destruction.  funny thing, first time i heard this track was on the way to san diego from los angeles with aforementioned girl (and her girl friend) to a hip hop show and i laughed as the record went on and on.  because it sort of encapsulated the ridiculousness of ‘trying to get off’ things because, well, i should’ve just DONE IT and be done with it.

here, now, then, four-plus years later, listening to it again at five this morning on the way to work, thinking about the ex, and not necessarily in such antagonistic terms as the lyrics, but rather seeing the ridiculousness in me, again, that i just need to STOP IT.  makes me feels like a pretty naive young thing.
