Funeral
My father was next to my mother, sitting rigid, and his posture was perfect. He always did know when he was out in public. His hands clasped between his knees, a bad black suit hanging on him like so many wet sheets of paper. His face didn’t reveal much. His eyes looked a little darker than usual.
